"A Patriot's Voice" is a project that I started as a means to do more than just sit around being "concerned" about what's happening in our country right now. This has been a growing concern of mine, especially with the current administration, and I have been tired of feeling helpless—not knowing what to do or where to begin; but knowing that I had to do something. Then a series of events inspired me to write this blog.
I believe in the power of the word: The framing of the Constitution can be traced back to the influence of just a handful of essays, not the least of which being "Common Sense," by Thomas Paine. This idea has become my inspiration. I feel that if I can at least get my words out there, that maybe I can add to the fire which needs to take place in America, in order for us to take her back, and return the Constitution to being the center of her soul.

It seems that our government wants to encroach more and more upon our freedoms, and dictate to us even more and more what should be done with our lives. This type of government is exactly what the framers of the Constitution were against. There should never be a "centralization of power".
"We, the people . . . " – remember? Speak up, America. It's time that our voices be heard!

Recently Max Baucus Senator from Montana, that’s “Max Baucus” one of the authors of the Healthcare Bill, in a recent statement to the public stated that he has not read the entire Healthcare Bill. He went on to say, in so many words, “Look, I don’t think you want me to waste my time to [...]

The more and more I see our government’s actions today, the more I see we’re not dealing with people who believe in the Constitution or the United States of America as it was originally conceived. Rather, I see those who are living in a Utopian fog. They don’t acknowledge reality as it stands. They say, [...]

I had had the idea, originally, to address the amazing “shift” in Healthcare, with the crucial election in Michigan. What a game changer that was! To see, Nancy Pelosi, herself, back down from “go, go, go” to “we’re going to take our time and do this right.” Ha! I never thought I’d see her utter [...]

I encourage anyone currently reading this to sign the petition against Healthcare Reform (H.R. 3590). I know time is drawing short, but every voice counts. If not in stopping it, at least in giving yourself that sense of “doing my part” and making yourself involved. This country was built on doers, not complainers, or those [...]

We are about to see Healthcare Reform unfold. I’m sensing the curtain is beginning to close. Tomorrow is the vote: December 24th. What will happen? I feel a sinking sensation that it will pass. This isn’t, necessarily, the final act . . . but it’s close. When it passes, the two bills (the Senate’s and [...]

“Slow Down; Act Fast” Today we celebrate Veteran’s Day, even as we wait on the President to make a decisive decision on troop deployment in Afghanistan. It seems that he feels that taking our time to “make a prudent decision” is the correct course of action rather than acting too rashly . . . uh, [...]

The Big Shun Several weeks ago, President Barack Obama agreed to go on all the major news networks—plus one (Univision)—to be interviewed and, of course, endorse Health Care Reform. They would all air on sunday. Except, . . . he left one out: The highest rated/most watched news station in the country . . . [...]

After 9/11, many were left to ask, “What does this all mean?” Some had lost loved ones . . . some were putting back together the logic of their lives; and the whole country was licking her wounds. This video demonstrates one man’s approach, not in coping with the loss of a loved one, but in coping with being a 9/11 survivor: the guilt he felt; the depression which followed; and finding life—in God, his family, and in the re-invigoration of his priorities.

I want to “thank you” Obama. You have awakened the involved citizen within me. You have “scared” me into action. I extend my gratitude to you for making me care enough to become informed about what’s going on and what’s behind your motivations as President of the United States of America. Now, for the first time, I want to really find out and understand what’s going on, and not just sit by “complacently curious”.
