The Big Issue
Despite our concern for the country and the direction that it’s taking, many of us are too busy to keep up with it all. We may want to be involved and do something about it, but responsibilities of providing for a family, religious duties and other obligations leave us with little or no time to do much else.
Because of this, I have provided the following information. It is a list of a few key topics that I deem as very important to keep your eye on. This will not always reflect what the mainstream media is covering, but for good reasons—1) The mainstream news media, I feel, has evolved into an entity that has its own agenda and no longer reflects impartial journalism, and 2) Often what is covered is “overcovered” and runs no risk of being overlooked, whereas the topics I provide are “watchdog” topics, or rights that we must protect or risk losing.
Freedom of Speech – Pres. Barak Obama has instituted a Communication Czar who wants to shut down many conservative talk shows and turn their liscences over to special interest groups within that community (namely gays and blacks).
Right to Bear Arms – The argument goes on against our right to bear arms. Many argue “our founding fathers lived in a different time.” A more threatening time? So, they faced rampant greed and corruption in their government? Or the threat of religious terrorists who want to see our destruction in the name of Allah? What about out of control organized crime in the form of gangs and Russian Mobs? The reality is that there are “real” threats out there, and the only ones that will be penalized by gun laws are those who obey the law. Let’s face it, those who do not value human life will not think twice about breaking any arbitrary gun law. And do we really think that these individuals buy “legal” guns through regular channels. That’s not exactly how it works.
